Meatballs with tomato sauce

Zutaten

For the meatballs:

250 g lean minced meat

½ onion

1 clove of garlic

1 egg white

2 slices of thin crisp bread soaked and drained

2 tablespoon dry red wine

1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley

Thyme

Salt

Pepper

1 teaspoon olive oil

For the tomato sauce:

200 g fresh or canned tomatoes, chopped

200 g water

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt

Pepper

1 tea spoon tomato paste

Cumin

Oregano

In a bowl add all the ingredients for the meatballs and mix well with your hands to get a smooth mixture.

Shape the mixture in small meatballs and place in the refrigerator for 20’ in order for the ingredients to thicken.

Place the meatballs on greaseproof paper and bake in the oven for 15’.

Flip and bake for another 15.

At the same time, warm up the olive oil in a deep non-stick frying pan or pan and sauté the onion.

Add the tomato, tomato paste and the herbs. Cook for 10’.

As soon as the meatballs are ready, add them in the sauce, boil for another 5’-7’ and the meatballs with sauce are ready.
